Dorval Environment and Gardening Day on Saturday,
May 19

Dorval, May 1, 2012 – The City of Dorval will host its Environment and Gardening Day on May 19, 2012, in the Dorval Arena parking lot (1450 Dawson Avenue).

As in previous years, the ever-popular free compost distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A maximum quantity of 200 litres of compost per residence will be given out. We ask Dorval residents to bring their own container and shovel. The Dorval Scouts will be on hand to help fill containers. A free distribution of wood chips will also be held at the same time. A proof of residency will be required.

The famous sale of perennials by the Dorval Horticultural Society will take place between
9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

A number of environmental kiosks will also be on hand: bicycle recovery (by SOS Vélo and Club Vélo Dorval), ink cartridge and battery (rechargeable or not) recycling, information booth on horticultural and environmental subjects, and much more!

Lastly, residents attending the event will enjoy the demonstration of composters, rain barrels, green bins (recycling), brown bins (organic waste), and others ecological products, as well as the presence of the 100% electric ZENN truck from the Horticultural Division of the City of Dorval.
