The 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge Brings Joy in Dorval

Dorval, May 16, 2012 – For its third year of participation in the 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge, the City of Dorval had decided to emphasize the importance of good health at an early age by inviting two schools in the municipality, École Gentilly and Dorval Elementary School, to take part in the event, which was held from March 1 to April 11, 2012.

To reward the implication of children, prizes, given by the City, were drawn among participating students. A bicycle, an aquatic family pass, and a free subscription to a children’s course for the 2012 fall session were respectively the first, second, and third place prizes.

Mayor Edgar Rouleau visited École Gentilly on Tuesday, May 15, to hand out the prizes to the happy winners:

  • First prize: Latoya Jonas (École Gentilly)
  • Second prize: Michael LeMay-Girard (École Gentilly)
  • Third prize: Dali Sullivan (École Gentilly)

The City of Dorval thanks all Dorval residents, young and young at heart, who took part in the 5/30 Health and Wellness Challenge this year!

The Challenge invites people to undertake or maintain two main objectives over a six-week period:

  1. To eat at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day, a minimum of 5 days a week
  2. To be active for at least 30 minutes a day, a minimum of 5 days a week
