Green Waste

Multi-dwelling buildings of 8 units or more benefit from a green waste pickup every Monday, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., during the months of April to November inclusive. Green waste must be placed at the curb after 7 p.m. on the eve of the collection day.

Green waste must be deposited in containers (e.g. an empty garbage can) and NOT in bulk at the curb. We recommend, however, using biodegradable containers, such as paper bags and cardboard boxes, which will also be picked up.

NO PLASTIC BAGS (EVEN BIODEGRADABLE, COMPOSTABLE, OR CORN-BASED) WILL BE ACCEPTED.

ACCEPTED WASTE:

  • Dead leaves
  • Garden debris
  • Twigs and straw
  • Debris from cleaning, weeding or tilling the grounds, the vegetable garden and fruit trees
  • Grass clippings
Please note that single-family dwellings, multi-dwelling buildings of less than 8 units, businesses in the residential sector, and institutions (schools, churches, etc.) also benefit from a green waste pickup, which is integrated with the organic waste pickup.
