Experience the Total Solar Eclipse

Monday, April 8, starting at noon
Edgar Rouleau Arena parking lot

(1450 Dawson Avenue)

Join us for a group experience as we’ll witness an incredible total solar eclipse! The Dorval Astronomy Club will be on site with their telescopes and expertise to help you take advantage of this event which isn’t foreseen again for the next 180 years. It is a once-in-a-lifetime event!

We invite you to bring a picnic blanket or a chair in order to be more comfortable during the event. We also encourage you to come on foot, as the parking lot will be closed for safety reasons.

Here is the full schedule:

  • Noon: Beginning of the eclipse protective glasses distribution (advance registration is required to obtain a pair)
  • 2:14 p.m.: Eclipse begins
  • 3:26 p.m.: Total eclipse begins
  • 3:27 p.m.:  Maximum eclipse
  • 3:28 p.m.: Total eclipse ends
  • 4:36 p.m.: Eclipse ends

REGISTRATION
Registration code: ASTRONOMIE-01

Free advance registration is required to ensure that everyone will receive a pair of protective glasses. Space is therefore limited. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times for a security purposes.

▶ For Dorval residents only
▶ As of Monday, March 18, at 8:30 a.m., until April 7, at 5 p.m. (or until the event is full)
▶ Online or in person at the Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex, the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre, and the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre, according to regular opening hours.

Each participating family member must register (e.g.: two registrations are required for a parent with his/her child).
