The NFB Film Club invites you to experience relevant and thought-provoking documentaries. These films will have viewers laughing, crying, and reflecting on the world we live in. The screenings are followed by discussions. Coffee is served. Admission is free for all and, since space is limited, advance registration at the Library is required.

Jean-Claude Labrecque recounts the astounding enterprise of French filmmaker Julien Duvivier, who shot a film adaptation of the classic novel Maria Chapdelaine in a village in the Saguenay‒Lac-Saint-Jean region in 1934. This documentary adventure takes us to the edge of the imagination of cinema and reality, and questions our identity and relationship to the past.
