2024 Spring Session

Did you know that it's possible to get a free evaluation from the Aquatic Supervisor at the Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex (DASC) to determine which level of swimming lesson to register for?
This is especially beneficial for people who are not currently taking swimming lessons with the City of Dorval!
Interested individuals can come to the DASC (1295 Dawson Avenue) on Saturdays, between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., or on Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Swimming Lessons - Adults

Swimming lessons for beginners and intermidiate-advanced.


Swimming Lessons - Aquadapt

These are one-on-one classes pairing a person with a disability with an experienced swim instructor.


Swimming Lessons - Diving

Diving lessons offered in the 25-metre pool to youths ages 8 to 16.


Swimming Lessons - Parent and Tot 1 (5 to 17 months)

This course is a half-hour of fun-filled learning experiences for parents with children ages 5 to 17 months. Parents and children learn how to be comfortable in the water through play, with the guidance of an instructor.


Swimming Lessons - Parent and Tot 2 (18 to 36 months)

This course is a half-hour of fun-filled learning experiences for parents with children ages 18 to 36 months. Parents and children learn how to be comfortable in the water through play, with the guidance of an instructor.


Swimming Lessons - Private

This one-on-one course is for people age 15 and under who wish to improve their swimming skills. Every course is personalized according to the skills, strengths, and weaknesses of each swimmer, and lesson plans are adapted to foster progress and results.


Swimming Lessons - Private Adult Lessons

This one-on-one course is for adults who wish to improve their swimming skills. Every course is personalized according to the skills, strengths, and weaknesses of each swimmer, and lesson plans are adapted to foster progress and results.


Swimming Lessons - Synchronized Swimming

Synchronized swimming lessons offered in the 25-metre pool to youths ages 8 to 16.


Swimming Lessons - Water Polo

Must be comfortable in the deep end of the 25-metre pool and able to swim 50 metres of free style and backstroke.


Swimming Lessons (1) - White

Minimum age suggested: 3 years

Course’s program:

  • Jump from the side with a bubble on, unassisted
  • Forward swimming for 12 metres with a bubble on, arms with directional control
  • Blow bubbles while swimming with a bubble on
  • Swim for 2 metres unassisted, face in the water
  • Back float with head support

Swimming Lessons (2) - Yellow

Course’s program:

  • Jump in, unassisted
  • Demonstrate a front and back glide
  • Swim for 12 metres unassisted, no bubble, face in water
  • Front and back float unassisted (5 seconds)

Swimming Lessons (3) - Green

Course’s program:

  • Push off the wall, streamline with kick for 6 metres
  • Swim front crawl for 12 metres
  • Endurance swim for 24 metres continuously
  • Backstroke kick for 12 metres
  • Rolling floats (front to back, back to front)
  • Retrieve an item from the bottom of the pool

Swimming Lessons (4) - Red

Course’s program:

  • Submerged push off into streamline kick (front)
  • Front crawl for 25 metres with breathing to the side
  • Backstroke for 12 metres
  • Backstroke kick for 25 metres

Swimming Lessons (5) - Blue

Course’s program:

  • Push off the wall into streamline position (back)
  • Front crawl for 50 metres
  • Backstroke for 25 metres
  • Breaststroke kick for 25 metres

Swimming Lessons (6) - Bronze

Course’s program:

  • Push off the wall into streamline position (back)
  • Front crawl for 50 metres
  • Backstroke for 50 metres
  • Breaststroke kick for 50 metres

Swimming Lessons (7) - Silver

Course’s program:

  • Front crawl for 75 m
  • Backstroke for 75 m
  • Breaststroke for 75 m
  • Butterfly kick for 50 m
  • Introduction to butterfly arms
  • Introduction to flip turns
