Recruitment Week in All Three Aquatic Centres

From June 26 to 30

Are you between the ages of 4 and 18 and interested in joining our various teams, such as swimming, diving, water polo or synchronized swimming? From June 26 to 30, each aquatic centre will hold a recruitment week for its competitive teams. Come and meet the coaches during this week and they will be happy to give you all the necessary information about these various sports. A detailed competitive flyer with practice and meet times will also be available at each aquatic centre.


Aquatic Festival

From August 13 to 20
At all three aquatic centres

Cheer on your local swimmers from all three aquatic centres as they compete during the summer-closing Aquatic Festival Week.

Here is the detailed schedule:

  • August 13: Mini-polo at Walters, from 9 a.m. to noon
  • August 14: Water polo competition at Walters, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • August 15: Recognition evening and synchronized swimming show, from 6 9 p.m.
  • August 16: Diving competition at Walters, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • August 19: Swim meet at Surrey, from 8 4 p.m.
  • August 20: Aquatic banquet at all three aquatic centres, from 6 p.m. to  9 p.m.


Community Huddles at All Aquatic Centres

Tell us your thoughts about the aquatic programs offered to you and your family over the summer months. Give suggestions and receive valuable information about events and programs.

Huddles will take place at 11 a.m. on July 4 at the Ballantyne Aquatic Centre, July 5 at the Walters Aquatic Centre, and July 6 at the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre. You can also send your comments and suggestions to


Arts and Crafts at the Aquatic Centres

The best of both worlds... Encourage your children to stick around between their swimming lessons and team practices to discover their creative side. Each week, a monitor will be on site, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Ballantyne Aquatic Centre (Mondays and Wednesdays) and at the Walters Aquatic Centre (Tuesdays and Thursdays), to offer free craft workshops.
