Dorval 2017 Winter Festival

February 8 to 12, 2017

Come and enjoy the great outdoors and all the activities offered for the entire family. Five days of winter fun will take place in a festive atmosphere. Savor a wintery experience filled with life’s little pleasures!
 

  • Wednesday, February 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    at the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre

    Opening Ceremonies     
    Crowning of the King and Queen and presentation of the winners of the festival button contest.

  • Thursday, February 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    at the Dorval Arena

    Preschool Skate
    Skating and tobogganing for parents and tots.
     

  • Thursday, February 9, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
    at the Pine Beach Citizens Association Hall

    Dinner and Comedy Night
    (In English, for adults age 18 and over)

    Italian dinner, bring your own refreshments.

    at the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre at a cost of $21.

    Klondike Night  
    A night of fun, games, and prizes for children ages 4 to 12.

    Let’s Celebrate the 125th Under the Stars (*new!*)
    Come to the official launching of the City of Dorval’s 125th anniversary.

    Hockey game between the Dorval Oldtimers and the Dorval Women’s League (Dorval Arena)

    2:30 p.m.
    “The Mayor’s Cup” hockey game between Dorval’s and Pointe-Claire’s Novice C teams (Dorval Arena)

    3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    Karting, giant slide, inflatable games, mechanical snow board, horse sleigh rides, campfire, music, street animation, face painting, and food.

    Family clown show with Billy Légaré

    Mayor’s speech, presentation of the Princesses, Princes, Queen, and King of the Festival, as well as the official unveiling of the new Dorval mascot

    at the Serge Nolet auditorium

    Family Mornings - La Grande Étude by Théâtre À Tempo
    This free bilingual show is designed for children age 4 and over. La Grande Étude presents a comical study on the effect of rhythm and sound on humans. Three eccentric characters find themselves being guinea pigs for tests done by two scientific musicians. This show will get the whole family laughing!
     

  • Sunday, February 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    at the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre

    North Pole
    A day full of activities starting off with a breakfast brunch, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (from $3 per person), followed by Timbits hockey, a trampoline, mini golf, inflatable games, a mascot, a cartoonist, face painting, music, the Dorval Astronomy Club, and more. 

     

Post-festival programming
 

  • Saturday, February 25 at the Dorval Arena
    Hockey Night in Dorval
    The Canadiens vs the Maple Leafs
    On the big screen, at the Dorval Arena
    With special guests: Chris Nilan and Youppi from the Montreal Canadiens

    Come and live the Bell Centre experience on a smaller scale, with music, entertainment, food, and surprises. It’s a nice occasion to reunite family and friends. 

    Doors open at 6 p.m.
