Snow Removal Operations Ongoing

Published on 02-12-2019

Due to the current accumulation of snow, and to improve the efficiency of snow removal operations, the City of Dorval invites its residents to respect the following instructions:

  • Respect the hours indicated on the orange “No parking” signs installed in the streets during snow removal operations in order to avoid having your vehicle towed.
  • Do not shovel snow onto the street and be aware that it is prohibited to deposit snow within a 1.2 metre radius of a fire hydrant. Inform your contractor of these restrictions.
  • Respect the overnight parking prohibition, between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., from November 15 to April 15 inclusively, to avoid having your vehicle towed.
  • Pick up your recycling bin, your organic waste bin, and your garbage container as soon as possible after the collection. Place your recycling, organic waste, and garbage bins in your private entrance and NOT on the sidewalk or on the street, in order to allow snow removal vehicles to circulate properly.
  • Parallel park your vehicle at a distance of 30 cm from the sidewalk in order to allow snowplow operators to circulate without hitting the mirrors of your vehicle. Better yet, avoid parking on the street.
  • When parking your vehicle in your driveway, make sure that no part of the vehicle is blocking the sidewalk, in order to allow snow removal vehicles to circulate properly on the sidewalk.

Please note that no pickups of debris from construction, renovation, and demolition (CRD) are made during snow removal operations. Residents are therefore asked to refrain from putting any CRD debris out for pickups until snow removal operations are completed and the notice is lifted.

Towed vehicle
If your vehicle has been towed and you would like to know its exact location, please contact the Neighbourhood Police Station 5 at 514 280-0105 or the Public Works Department at 514 633-4046.

Thank you for your cooperation!
