The City of Dorval receives 4 Fleurons!

Unveiling of the Fleurons du Québec 2017 classification results

Yesterday, the Corporation des Fleurons du Québec unveiled the results of the 12th edition of its horticultural classification for municipalities that were evaluated in 2017. This ceremony took place at the Granby Zoo and was the occasion to celebrate the success of 108 municipalities. More than 150 mayors and municipal representatives were attending to receive their official attestation from the president of the Fleurons, Mr. Gaston Arcand, Mayor of Deschambault-Grondines.

Of the 108 municipalities evaluated this year, 33 gained a fleuron and all of them progressed in the classification grid. The City of Dorval is very proud to have maintained its 4 fleurons classification!

The Corporation des Fleurons wishes to highlight the tremendous efforts made by the City of Dorval and all of the municipalities evaluated in 2017 in order to sustainably embellish their territories and give their citizens a better place to live.

The Fleurons evaluations take place every three years and are assorted with a detailed report written by professionals and containing advices to progress in the classification grid. For each municipality, the classifiers visit 60% of the territory.

Throughout the province, it’s 43% of Quebeckers that are citizens of a Fleurons municipality. In 2017, 355 municipalities from all around Quebec are proudly displaying their fleurons. It is a demonstration of the growing interest of municipalities toward greening their environment.
