The City of Dorval Takes Part in the Dandelion Challenge
Published on 04-24-2024
This year, the City of Dorval is proud to follow in the footsteps of many other municipalities and is embarking on the Dandelion Challenge!
The “Dandelion Challenge” (Défi Pissenlits) was initiated by Miel&Co. in Quebec, with the goal of delaying mowing the yard early in the season, particularly so that dandelions can flower. There is no explicit time for the campaign – it runs for the flowering season of dandelions, which may start and end at different times each year. Once the yellow petals of dandelions have been replaced with the white seeds (“fluff”), you may resume mowing!
Would you like to participate in the Challenge? Get a small sign bearing the logo of the Challenge and the City of Dorval (limited quantities). They are available at City Hall (60 Martin Avenue) during office hours.
More information can be found on the Dandelion Challenge website, at defipissenlits.ca.
