This series of surreal photographs focuses on the feminine adolescence. Vulnerabilities and forces collide. A thirst for freedom and a secret urge for constraints, a need for assertion and a feeling of fragility - these are all puzzling paradoxes that artist Catherine Rondeau explores through unusual scenes set in cold and ice.
More than a backdrop, the winter landscapes serve to highlight the latency period for the woman to be. Filled with poetry and expressive candor, the images in the Traversée boréale exhibition invite us to plunge into the disconcerting strangeness that marks the path towards the emergence of femininity.
