First group (2 places available): June 25 to July 19
Second group (2 places available): July 22 to August 16

Get hands-on day camp experience with the Leaders in Training (LIT) program!

Designed for teens ages 14 to 17 (as of June 1), this program will help them in their quest to become a camp monitor. This hands-on program provides participants with real-life work experience, helping them develop important skills, gain knowledge, and build confidence. Leaders will learn a variety of skills and techniques by taking part in a 70-hour fieldwork experience at the Dorval Kids Klub (DKK).

The schedule will be determined according to the LIT’s availability and the City’s needs. It is strongly recommended that the 70 hours be completed consecutively, for the best possible DKK experience.

Registered teens will be invited to take part in some staff theoretical training in June and team meetings. These meetings will allow them to gain more skills and knowledge, and will allow them to better understand how to organize and operate a day camp.

Following their registration to the program, all LITs will be contacted by a member of our team to plan and discuss their schedule. We’ll also give them two T-shirts to wear during their practical training (so they’ll be clearly identified with the program and our team).

Please note that the DKK is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and will be closed on June 24 and July 1. It is located at the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre (1945 Parkfield Avenue).
