Large Objects Pickup

In order to reduce the quantity of dry materials sent to dump sites and to better protect the environment, the City of Dorval has a recycling program for large objects. A special team drives through the territory and picks up the appliance (object made of wood, metal, plastic or any other recyclable material), which must be placed by the curb. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the pickup is carried out within 7 business days.

Is considered a large object:

  • Tables and chairs
  • Armchairs
  • Chests of drawers
  • Desks
  • Commodes
  • Bookshelves
  • Mattresses*
  • Filing cabinets
  • Bedroom, living room or kitchen sets
  • Electrical household appliances of any size (stove, toaster, refrigerator, etc.)
  • Hot-water heaters
  • Furnaces and wood-burning stoves
  • Air-conditioners

Lids, doors, or any other similar closing devices or fastening mechanisms must be removed from boxes, coolers, household appliances, suitcases or chests into which a child could climb.

* In order to avoid contaminating mattresses and the spreading of bedbugs, we ask that you wrap all mattresses in a transparent plastic cover or bag before placing them by the curb.

DROP-OFF AT THE PUBLIC WORKS YARD
It is also possible to drop off large objects at the Public Works yard located at 550 Bouchard Boulevard (open from Monday to Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., as well as on Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.).
