Electoral Districts
The City of Dorval’s territory, which in January 2020 had a total of 14,536 domiciled voters and 23 non-domiciled voters, for a grand total of 14,559 voters, is divided into 6 electoral districts (average of 2,427 voters per district), bounded and described clockwise below. Note that, unless otherwise indicated, the centre of the indicated traffic lanes and demarcations constitutes the effective limit.
Electoral District No. 1
Starting from a point located at the intersection of Sunnybrooke Avenue and of the northwest municipal boundary on Saint-Régis Boulevard; from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the northeast, the northwest municipal boundaries then north, then northeast, then east, the shore of Lake Saint-Louis, the Bouchard stream, Sévigny Avenue, Bord-du-Lac Lakeshore Road, Martin Avenue, the south boundary of the property located at 142 Martin Avenue, the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the west side of Martin Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties located at 455 and 495 De l’Église Avenue, the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the west side of Martin Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties at 455 and 495 Carson Avenue, the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the west side of Martin Avenue, Bouchard Boulevard, autoroute du Souvenir (20), the southbound extension of Thorncrest Avenue, this last avenue, the east boundary of Westwood Park, the southwest boundary of the restricted airport area of Montreal’s Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport, the extension southbound of the Denis stream, this last stream, the eastbound extension of the north limit of the property located at 1549 Deslauriers Avenue, this last boundary, the west and northwest municipal boundaries to the starting point.
This district comprises 2,773 electors, a +14.26% variation from the mean, and an area of 15.30 km2.
Electoral District No. 2
Starting from a point located at the intersection of autoroute du Souvenir (20) and Bouchard Boulevard; from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the southeast, Bouchard Boulevard, the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the west side of Martin Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties located at 455 and 495 Carson Avenue, the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the west side of Martin Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties located at 455 and 495 De l’Église Avenue, the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the west side of Martin Avenue, the south boundary of the property located at 142 Martin Avenue, Martin Avenue, Bord-du-Lac--Lakeshore Drive, Sévigny Avenue, the Bouchard stream, the shore of Lake Saint-Louis, the east and south municipal boundaries in Lake St. Louis, the southward extension (in Lake Saint-Louis) of the west boundary of the property located at 770 Bord-du-Lac--Lakeshore Drive (this extension affects the east end of Dorval Island), this last property boundary, Bord-du-Lac--Lakeshore Drive, Dorval Avenue and its northbound extension (in the centre of the Dorval roundabout), autoroute du Souvenir (20) to the starting point.
This district also comprises the following islands and islets: Bouchard-Bushy and Dixie.
This district comprises 2,522 electors, a +3.91% variation from the mean, and an area of 3.42 km2.
Electoral District No. 3
Starting from a point located at the intersection of Fenelon Boulevard and autoroute du Souvenir (20); from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the southeast, autoroute du Souvenir (20), the northbound extension of Dorval Avenue (in the centre of the Dorval roundabout), this last avenue, Bord-du-Lac--Lakeshore Drive, the west limit of the property located at 770 Bord-du-Lac--Lakeshore Drive, its southbound extension in Lake Saint-Louis, the east end of Dorval Island, the north shore of Dorval Island, the west end of Dorval Island, the southbound extension (in Lake Saint-Louis) of the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the west side of McConnell Road, this last line, the rear lot line of the properties successively fronting on the south and west sides of Ashburton Crescent, the west limit of Windsor Park, the boundary separating the two properties located at 1175 and 1195 Dawson Avenue, the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the east side of Allard Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties located at 1170 John-Pratt Avenue and 1190 Carson Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties located at 1155 and 1185 Carson Avenue, the rear lot of the properties fronting on the east side of Allard Avenue, its northbound extension, autoroute du Souvenir (20) to the starting point.
This district also comprises the Lake Saint-Louis area located between the south shore of Dorval Island and the south municipal boundary in the centre of Lake Saint-Louis; it excludes Dorval Island entirely, which is in itself a municipality.
This district comprises 2,365 electors, a -2,55% variation from the mean, and an area of 2,11 km2.
Electoral District No. 4
Starting from a point located at the intersection of Herron Road and Clément Avenue; from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the north, the northbound extension of Avenue Clément, autoroute du Souvenir (20), the northbound extension of the rear lot line of the properties fronting on the east side of Allard Avenue, this said boundary, the boundary separating the two properties located at 1155 and 1185 Carson Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties located at 1170 John-Pratt Avenue and 1190 Carson Avenue, the rear lot line of the properties fronting the east side of Allard Avenue, the boundary separating the two properties located at 1175 and 1195 Dawson Avenue, the west limit of Windsor Park, the rear lot line of the properties successively fronting the west and south sides of Ashburton Crescent, the rear lot line of the properties fronting the west side of McConnell Road, its southbound extension in Lake Saint-Louis (this extension reaches the west end of Dorval Island), the south municipal boundary in Lake Saint-Louis, the southbound extension of Saint-Louis Avenue (in Pine Beach Park and Lake Saint-Louis),this last avenue, Turcot Avenue, Clément Avenue to the starting point.
This district comprises 2,101 electors, a -13.43% variation from the mean, and an area of 3.38 km2.
Electoral District No. 5
Starting from a point located at the intersection of the west municipal boundary and autoroute du Souvenir (20); from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the east, from autoroute du Souvenir (20) the northbound extension of Clément Avenue, this last avenue, Turcot Avenue, Saint-Louis Avenue and its southbound extension in Pine Beach Park and Lake Saint-Louis, the south municipal boundary in Lake Saint-Louis, the west municipal boundary (in Lake Saint-Louis and generally on Des Sources Boulevard) to the starting point.
This district comprises 2,087 electors, a -14.01% variation from the mean, and an area of 3.46 km2.
Electoral District No. 6
Starting from a point located at the triple intersection of the west municipal boundary as well as Chanteclerc and Deslauriers avenues; from there, successively, the following lines and demarcations: to the north, the west municipal boundary on Deslauriers Avenue, the north boundary of the property located at 1549 Deslauriers Avenue and its eastward extension, the Denis stream and its southward extension, the southwest boundary of the restricted airport area of Montreal’s Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport, the east boundary of Westwood Park, Thorncrest Avenue and its southward extension, autoroute du Souvenir (20), the west municipal boundary to the starting point.
This district comprises 2,711 electors, a +11,70% variation from the mean, and an area of 1,34 km2.
