Afrovibes - Summer Concert
Monday, August 5, at 7:30 p.m. (75 minutes)
At Pine Beach Park
(intersection of chemin du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore and Pine Beach Boulevard)
Afrobeat, fusion, soul, rock, and jazz
Founded in 2014 by Emmanuel Delly, Haitian percussionist, Afrovibes is the first group to offer afrobeat sounds on the Quebec City stage. Drawing on the roots of the creator of afrobeat Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the group mixes afrobeat rhythms, those of voodoo from Haiti, the bel-air of Martinique, and traditional rhythms from Latin America and the Comoros Islands, combining fusion atmospheres sometimes soul, rock, and jazz. This musical eclecticism would not exist without the cultural diversity of the musicians who make up Afrovibes.
Their repertoire includes covers and arrangements in the pure Afrobeat style, but also several original compositions contributed by the different members of the group. Everyone brings their own musical ideas to the table.

In the event of poor weather or extreme heat, the performance will be held at the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre.
