Les Barocudas — Divertissimo Series

Sunday, September 25, at 11 a.m.
At the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre

(1401 chemin du Bord-du-Lac—Lakeshore)

17th century Italian music

Les Barocudas present Basta Parlare!

We are in Italy, in the 17th century, in the midst of an explosion of musical creation. The voice, which, until then was centre stage, begins to make way for instruments, which started to be further developed on a technical standpoint, thus better serving a new type of music, centered on virtuosity and lyricism. During this performance, you will discover two instruments that have been able to stand out among the others: the recorder and the violin. They will combine their voices in dialogues that rival each other in eloquence and artifice, accompanied brilliantly by the bass, the harp, the harpsichord, and the viola.

Cost:

  • $10 per adult
  • $5 for children ages 6 to 12
  • Free for children age 5 and under
