Dorval Launches Its Renewed Environment Committee
On this Earth Day 2022 (April 22), the City of Dorval is delighted to officially announce the membership of its renewed Environment Committee.
Created in 2010, the Dorval Environment Committee has served as an advisory body for the municipal council on policies, programs, and by-laws that may have an impact on the environment. It has consisted of residents, municipal councillors, and representatives of various city departments. The contribution of all past members has been greatly appreciated and must be commended.
Following the 2021 municipal election, the new city council agreed to revise the committee, in order to allow for the creation of subcommittees that will carry out additional reflection and research on specific subjects, such as community outreach and innovative programming.
Following an open call for applicants, the membership of the renewed committee will consist of:
- Marc Doret, Mayor
- Christopher von Roretz, City Councillor
- Pascal Brault, City Councillor
- David Lebrasseur, Leisure and Culture Department employee
- Martin Léger, Public Works Department employee
- Josée Lanouette, resident
- Raissa Marks, resident
For the time being, two subcommittees, each with three residents and one councillor, have also been established, and the city council has indicated a willingness to add other subcommittees if necessary, once the work of this renewed Environment Committee gets underway.
The City extends its appreciation to all applicants for their interest in supporting our community through meaningful action to fight the climate crisis. Others who are interested in getting involved are encouraged to keep an eye out for future recruitment notices.
