This is a personalized support service, offered in partnership with Écohabitation, designed to help Dorval property owners identify the best adaptation strategies to protect their homes from flooding and to ensure that any required work, if necessary, is carried out according to industry standards.
Any residential dwelling located in Dorval that did not sustain water damage as a result of flooding or sewer backup during the torrential rain events of August 9, 2024, July 13, 2025, and/or June 20, 2026, is eligible for this program.
Through this support service, applicants will receive the following services, all offered free of charge:
The program for non‑affected residents begins on Monday, March 30, 2026.
Eligible applications will be processed through this program until March 30, 2027. Applications will be handled in the order in which they are received. A maximum of 50 eligle applications will be processed.
Dorval property owners must complete the form below (a paper version of the form is also available at the reception desk of the Urban Planning Department - 60 Martin Avenue). The purpose of this form is to collect basic information from applicants, such as address, phone number, and email address, in order to develop an overall picture of their situation.
After submitting their form, residents will receive a response by email confirming acceptance of their request, given the limited number of spots available.
Once eligibility has been confirmed, applicants will be required to complete a questionnaire to provide a more detailed overview of their situation. Based on the information provided, Écohabitation will develop a personalized work plan, which will be sent to the applicants. A meeting by videoconference or telephone call will then be arranged with Écohabitation to provide clarification and ask any questions regarding their personalized work plan.
Subsequently, a virtual or telephone appointment with the consultant will be scheduled to review the bids received in accordance with the personalized work plan. An email will also be sent, in which recommendations will be made to help facilitate the selection of contractors for the desired work.
