The City of Dorval, being a public body, is subject to the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information (hereinafter the ‘’Law”).
The right of access to documents applies to all documents held by the City. However, certain restrictions apply under the Law, with respect to the protection of personal information, impacts on public security, administrative or political decisions.
Any request for access to a document must be addressed to the person in charge of access to documents within the City. The request must be sufficiently detailed to make it possible to locate the desired document.

The person in charge of access must study the request and render a decision. According to the Law, the person in charge of access has 20 days to render a decision and if necessary, has the possibility of extending the delay by an additional 10 days.
