Many candidates use election signs to reach voters. It is essential, however, to comply with all applicable regulations.
First, no election signs are permitted within the territory of the City of Dorval prior to the beginning of the election period on September 19, 2025. All signage must then be removed by November 17, 2025.
Next, signs must be of good quality, safe, of a temporary nature, easy to remove, and must not leave any marks. The top of the sign must not be more than 5 metres above the ground and must not obstruct traffic.
We invite you to consult the following link to fully understand the applicable regulations:
Additionally, on voting days, no election signs may be visible from voting locations. A map outlining the perimeter where signage is prohibited will be provided to candidates during the candidate meeting of October 6, 2025.
The City reserves the right to remove any non-compliant signage at the candidate’s expense, following a notice to that effect.
Please contact the Office of the Returning Officer should you have any questions.
