Dorval named finalist at the Étoiles en travaux publics 2025
The City of Dorval is proud to have been named a finalist in the Prevention of Damage to Underground Infrastructure category of the Étoiles en travaux publics 2025 recognition program.
This nomination underscores Dorval’s ongoing commitment to safety, diligence, and collaboration in the management of its infrastructures and those of its partners.
Since February 2006, Dorval has been an active member of Info-Excavation. Over the past year, more than 1,386 locate requests were recorded on its territory, including 465 carried out directly by the City, all in high-risk areas containing more than four underground infrastructures. Through meticulous planning and proactive measures, the City has successfully reduced damages and incidents.
This remarkable performance is the result of several best practices, including:
- Close collaboration with Info-Excavation prevention officers and infrastructure owners.
- Consistent and thorough locate requests before every intervention.
Dorval’s proactive and responsible management demonstrates that preventing damage to underground infrastructures is not only possible, but essential to ensure public safety and the sustainability of municipal networks.
The winners of the Étoiles en travaux publics 2025 will be announced on October 23, 2025, during the Recognition Gala of the colloque annuel en entretien et travaux publics du Québec.
