As part of our commitment to the continuous improvement of municipal services, we would like to inform you that as of November 1 at 9 a.m., you will have access to our new online registration platform: Amilia. This platform will give you simplified access to register for leisure, cultural and library courses and activities.
This change will also entail modifications to the citizen card, which will now be divided into a leisure card and a library card. We invite you to read the information below, including the new registration procedure and the exceptional measures put in place to facilitate this transition.
Changes to the citizen card
Two separate cards:
Leisure card: Linked to the Amilia platform, this card will be used to register for leisure, cultural, and library courses and activities, and to access facilities at the Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex (DASC). Available in digital (on the device of your choice) and printed formats.
Library card: The current citizen card will now be used exclusively for borrowing documents and using library resources. New! It will now also be available in digital format via the Library application. Those wishing to keep their citizen card in printed form will still be able to renew it each year without any problem.
New registration procedure
For citizens with a valid citizen card
Automatic transfer to Amilia: Your file will be automatically transferred to the new platform. No need to create a new account! On October 18, you will receive an email with a link to activate your account on Amilia. Don't forget to check your junk mailbox in case the message got there by mistake. You must activate your account within 60 days of receiving the email, otherwise the link will expire.
Course and activity registration: Once your account has been activated, you can register online. If you prefer to register in person, this option is still available at our reception desks*.
Digital card: The transfer of your file to Amilia and the activation of your account will generate a new digital leisure card with a different number and barcode from those on your current physical card.
Among other things, this digital card will give access to DASC facilities (turnstiles). Citizens with a membership to aquatic activities or to the gym will still need to go to the front desk during the transition period to continue accessing the facilities (between the end of the fall session and the start of the winter and holiday session).
New physical card (optional): If you wish to keep a physical card for your course and activity registrations, you will need to request one at one of our reception desks*. You will receive a new card with an updated barcode corresponding to your Amilia account.
Use of old cards: The old citizen card will no longer be compatible with the DASC turnstiles or for registering for courses and leisure, cultural, and library activities. However, it will remain valid for borrowing library items and accessing library resources.
For citizens or non-residents who already have an Amilia account
Use of current account: If you already use an Amilia account to access the services of other municipalities or organizations, you can continue to use this same account to register for Dorval courses and activities. If your current citizen card is still valid, you will receive an email informing you that your Amilia account has been linked to the Dorval platform. No action is required on your part. You can simply log in to your existing account during the registration period. However, to benefit from the rates reserved for Dorval residents, you will need to provide proof of residency in person at our reception desks*.
For non-residents, citizens without an Amilia account or with an expired citizen card
Creating a new Amilia account: If your citizen card has expired, or if you don't have an Amilia account, you will need to create one to register for courses and activities online. The account can be created directly online via the Amilia platform as of November 1 at 9 a.m., or in person at our reception desks*.
Don't forget to bring proof of residency if you wish to benefit from preferential rates for Dorval residents. Address validation can only be done in person.
We invite you to create your account as early as November 1 to be ready for the upcoming registration period!
Need help? Don't worry! Explanatory videos and step-by-step instructions will be available to help you create your account and register for activities. We'll also be offering an information and technical support session on November 5 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre (Room A), during which we'll guide you through the creation of your account and answer any questions you may have. More details on this session will follow soon. You can also drop in at the Library reference desk, without appointment, or at the reception desk of our municipal buildings during opening hours, for assistance. We look forward to assisting you!
Additional information
Tickets for shows: Tickets for events in the Family Mornings and Divertissimo series or for Cabaret Nights will continue to be available via Réservatech rather than on Amilia.
Registrations for cultural and library activities: As before, only registrations for cultural and library activities will be possible at the Library.
Exceptional measures
In this period of transition, we would like to highlight the following measures:
Credits not available for winter and holiday sessions Credits available in your current account as a result of course cancellations or registrations will not be available for winter and holiday registrations. However, they will be available for the following session or will be reimbursed via Amilia gift cards or by cheque. A communication will follow regarding the transfer of credits.
Late registration for fitness courses - Fall 2024 sessionLate registration for fall 2024 fitness courses will be possible only at the reception desks, starting November 18.
Validation of passes for DASC courses From October 24 to the end of the Fall session, pass validation for participants in courses at the DASC will be done manually at the reception desks.
These measures are designed to ensure a smooth transition and minimize inconvenience for all our citizens.
