In an effort to fight food insecurity in certain areas of the municipality, the City of Dorval, in cooperation with Corbeille de Pain, will be organizing solidarity markets over the coming months.
Solidarity markets are places where nutritious food is more accessible to people in vulnerable situations. They also support our local economy by sourcing from local farmers and paying them a fair price.
The markets operate on a “pay what you can” model, allowing participants to pay a fairer price based on their own financial situation. And if you are able to, you can “pay it forward” by paying more than the listed price for your produce. This “extra” will then help support more vulnerable residents of the West Island.
Everyone is welcome to shop at the solidarity markets!
