In Dorval, the holiday season is celebrated in a thousand and one ways! This exhibition opens a window onto vibrant stories from residents who experience winter differently. Family heritage, reinvented traditions, cultural influences – each story is unique. Welcome to Our Home! invites you to dive into the richness of our cultural fabric and explore the original and inspiring ways Dorval residents celebrate the season. Step inside – and prepare to be amazed!

In the spirit of the Welcome to Our Home! exhibition, come create a holiday sun catcher using tissue paper—a bright and colourful decoration to light up your window and add a touch of winter magic to your home.

At the Dorval Museum of Local History and Heritage

Advance registration is required.

Saulo’s sandals still smoulder today, having travelled nearly the entire world in search of the unknown. With his suitcase filled with musical instruments, he transports us through end-of-year tales from different cultures. His stories, enriched by his travels and his homeland of Panama, intertwine with legends from elsewhere that, mysteriously, converge in their themes and symbols.

It’s an invitation to discover, to marvel, and to recognize a little of our own history in these tales from around the world.

Registration will take place online or in person at the Dorval Library, the Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex, the Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre, and the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre, according to the buildings’ opening hours.

Come experience the magic of the Holidays during our grand tree lighting event, marking the official opening of the Dorval Holiday Market! Gather your loved ones and let yourself be carried away by the winter spirit in a welcoming and enchanting atmosphere. Young and old alike, this evening is for you!

A magical atmosphere and unforgettable moments

In the heart of the Dorval Village

Discover our local businesses and enjoy the roaming entertainment while getting some holiday shopping done. An unforgettable experience awaits you at the Dorval Holiday Market!

Inspired by European markets, the outdoor site will showcase local artisans and products, as well as tasty discoveries, all in an enchanting atmosphere enhanced by beautiful lighting, background music, and small wooden cabins serving as booths for merchants.

The Dorval Holiday Market, displayed in the parking lot located at the intersection of Tulip and Dawson avenues, will be open during the first two weekends of December.

Opening hours

Friday: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday: Noon to 7 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m.

Take advantage of the games offered in the kids’ corner, the many time slots available to meet and take photos with Santa Claus free of charge, and many new features onsite!

We encourage all visitors to bring their own reusable bags for shopping.

▶ In the spirit of this season of giving, a drop-off area for food donations will be set up in a designated area. The items dropped off will be donated to the City’s Community Aid, which will distribute them to Dorval residents in need. Thank you for your generosity!

This winter, the Holiday Craft Corner celebrates Snow Day! Discover the beautiful mosaic ornaments created by Dorval citizens and schools. A collective exhibition, led by artist Laurence Petit, that lights up the season with creativity, collaboration, and a festive community spirit. Come admire these unique works that pay tribute to the magic of winter!

Take advantage of your visit to take a break at the Holiday Craft Corner: enjoy a cozy café space, an inspiring reading nook, and craft workshops for all ages. It’s a welcoming place to relax, create, and share the magic of winter in a simple and joyful way!

Free activity for age 55 and over, presented by Barbara Lewis

Get into the holiday spirit with a festive and interactive musical activity for people age 55 and over! Montreal singer and gifted entertainer Barbara Lewis will take us down memory lane with some classic Christmas songs. Sing along to holiday favourites (in English and French) or just sit back and enjoy Barbara’s rich vocals – either way, you’re in for a treat! Coffee, tea, and sweets will be served.

In addition to the usual recreational swimming, lap swimming periods, open activities in the gymnasium, and courses offered, the Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex has decided to offer some “Christmas gifts” during its holiday programming!

Between December 12 and 18
At the Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex

Each time participants age 12 and under take part in a swimming lesson or in an open activity in the gymnasium or in the pool, they will be given a ticket at the DASC’s reception desk. Each ticket increases their chances of winning a Christmas stocking full of surprises!

The draw will be held on December 19, at 11 a.m.

Bring a touch of Japanese elegance to your holiday season with furoshiki — a traditional art of fabric wrapping that’s eco-friendly, reusable, and full of charm. This versatile cloth can be transformed into a gift wrap, a bag, or even a bottle carrier… the possibilities are endless!

Bring your own gift to wrap and discover how furoshiki can elevate your presents while reducing waste. A beautiful way to combine usefulness and creativity in the spirit of the Holidays!

Based on the seasons, the Edgar Rouleau Arena offers freestyle skating and hockey periods. In addition to the regular schedule, more activities are added to the programming during the Holidays.

Come and enjoy a giant inflatable game installed in the 25-metre pool.

Children age 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

To use the Wibit, a participant must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 metres) unassisted.
