Each fall, the City offers several dead leaf pickups for single-family dwellings as a way to improve its waste reduction effort and produce compost that will be subsequently offered to residents.
The pickup dates for 2026 are Fridays, October 23 and 30, as well as November 6, 13, and 20.
Single-family dwellings will receive five biodegradable paper bags by mid-October. A limited quantity of additional paper bags will be available at City Hall (60 Martin Avenue) and the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre (1945 Parkfield Avenue), at the cost of ¢50 each (tax included). For more information, please call 514 633-4046.
Leaves can also be placed in brown organic waste bins or any other reusable container. Leaves placed in garbage or recycling bins will not be collected.
