The Importance of Being Earnest

7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. At Pine Beach Park Free All

Grand Tour of the Parks
The City offers free outdoor performances for the general public on Thursdays at 7 p.m. Bring your chair and join in the fun!

By Repercussion Theatre

Presented in cooperation with the Conseil des arts de Montréal en tournée

For the summer of 2025, Shakespeare-in-the-Park is going Wilde! Yes, Repercussion Theatre and Persephone Productions have come together to bring you Oscar Wilde’s beloved comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest (directed by Rebecca Gibian and Adam Capriolo.) In this splendid satire of mistaken identities, Wilde astonishes with his brilliant wit and wordplay, while criticizing social stratification. With a terrific ensemble of eccentric characters and the magical outdoor setting you expect from Shakespeare-in-the-Park, this production delivers an extraordinary summer evening. So, hold onto your handbags and pack your cucumber sandwiches, because you won’t want to miss this tantalizing treat!

In the event of poor weather or extreme heat, the show will be held in the Edgard Rouleau Arena (1450 Dawson Avenue).
