This committee was established in 2010 in order to advise the municipal council on policies, programs, and by-laws that would have an impact on aspects of our built and natural environments. The committee consists of resident volunteers, city administrators, and members of council.

The City is seeking adult Dorval residents to apply for a position on this committee. This call aligns with the strategic issues of citizen participation and the development of a green and sustainable city, as outlined in Dorval’s Strategic Plan – Vison 2033.

Members will also have opportunities to present proposals to support the plan’s environmental objectives.

The committee is expected to meet 4 to 6 times per year, in a combination of virtual and in-person meetings. Additionally, between meetings, members may be asked to do background research on varied environmental topics, develop proposals, and assist at outreach events such as the spring “Environment and Gardening Day” and the summer “Dorval Celebrates” events.

The ideal candidate is a Dorval resident who has a passion for the environment. Applicants should highlight any specific professional or leisure experience relating to environmental action, as well as particular areas of interest.
