The ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable informs road users that reconstruction work on the Côte-de-Liesse Highway (A-520) overpass above 43rd Avenue will resume on March 24. The project will continue until the end of 2025.
This marks the second phase of the work, focusing on the demolition and reconstruction of the main highway overpass. The service road bridges (chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse) in both directions were completed in 2024.
Closures and Traffic Management From March 24 until the end of 2025:
Full closure of A-520 in both directions between Riddle Avenue and 46th Avenue. - Traffic will be redirected to the service roads, allowing circulation to be maintained along this key axis during the work.
Full closure of 43rd Avenue between Ryan Avenue and Joseph-Dubreuil Street.
Full closure of Ryan Avenue between 43rd Avenue and Renaud Avenue.
Full closure of Joseph-Dubreuil Street between 43rd Avenue and 46th Avenue.
Full closure of the ramp from 43rd Avenue to eastbound A-520 service road. - Local traffic will be maintained for all closures except for the full closure of 43rd Avenue between Ryan Avenue and Joseph-Dubreuil Street.
Reminder – Free Shuttle Service
43rd Avenue remains closed to vehicles and pedestrians between Ryan Avenue and Joseph-Dubreuil Street until the end of 2025.
A free shuttle service is available 24/7 to help pedestrians and cyclists cross the highway at 43rd Avenue.
Shuttle stops are located at:
52nd Avenue near the eastbound A-520 service road;
32nd Avenue near the eastbound A-520 service road;
Intersection of Ryan Avenue and Riddle Avenue;
Jean-Paul Laframboise Street near the eastbound A-520 service road.
Important Information
Detour routes will be clearly marked with temporary signage. Traffic congestion is expected in the area. The Ministry recommends that road users plan extra travel time, especially when heading to the airport. The start of this work may be delayed due to weather or operational constraints.
