A Historic Milestone for the Next Ten Years
Would you like to see new cultural projects take shape in Dorval? Do you want culture to be more visible, more vibrant, and more present around you?
Every major initiative starts somewhere. The adoption of the Dorval Cultural Policy 2026–2036, officially approved yesterday during the January 19 municipal council meeting, marks precisely that starting point.
The result of rigorous work, this document is rooted in an extensive public consultation process that engaged several hundred Dorval residents early last year. It is also the outcome of the sustained commitment of a rich and diverse steering committee, whose vision and expertise helped shape the very foundations of this policy.
More than a simple framework, the Dorval Cultural Policy 2026–2036 is intended as a strategic tool:
Above all, it embodies a vision for the cultural future of Dorval — a vision filled with meaning and possibilities.
Does it still feel a bit abstract? Not to worry: the next step will be the development of a detailed action plan that will translate the policy’s orientations into concrete initiatives. This plan will be built through collaboration, the mobilization of key contributors across the territory, and a constant commitment to adaptability.
In Dorval, we aspire to a cultural landscape that is rooted, that inspires, unites, and transforms. And with this first cultural policy, it is clear that we are already well on our way.
